Same visit. Low-frequency TENS relaxes the jaw musculature out of its compensated pattern. Once the muscles release, we locate the neuromuscularly balanced bite — the position the body actually wants, not the one it has adapted to.
A custom orthotic is lab-made to hold the balanced position. Precision work, returned in three to seven days.
The orthotic is fitted and verified with EMG jaw tracking — objective confirmation that the musculature is working from the balanced position. Post-fit measurements are taken on the spot.
The player trains in the orthotic. Typically, the muscles start to adapt within 4 to 6 weeks; a weekly check-in allows fine adjustments along the way. The bite is refined as the physiologic position changes.
The S&C team re-runs the baseline metrics — measured on their equipment, by their staff, against their numbers. Then the choice: keep wearing the orthotic or convert the proven position to a permanent restoration. Nothing was risked. The result was earned before it was made permanent.
